The Jerusalem Post, a prominent English-language Israeli newspaper, has faced turmoil in recent years under the ownership of businessman Eli Azur.

The Jerusalem District Court has approved the sale of the Hebrew newspaper Maariv to The Jerusalem Post owner, Eli Azur, for $1.15 million.

Israeli businessman Eli Azur and Canadian newspaper magnate Leonard Asper engaged in a fierce battle over ownership of The Jerusalem Post in 2005, culminating in a court decision granting complete control of the paper to Azurs company, Mirkaei Tikshoret Ltd.
