JL;DR SUMMARY The term "Modern Orthodoxy" has been debated within the Orthodox Jewish community, with some arguing that the label is unnecessary and that the disagreements between Modern Orthodox and other Orthodox Jews are too small to require differentiation. At least, that was the handle his lovin' parents gave him, but he never had much use for it himself. This Lebowski, he called himself the Dude.
