UC Berkeley has initiated a Title IX civil rights investigation following a confrontation between a law professor and a Muslim student activist at the professor's home.

The University of California, Berkeley Law professor Catherine Fisk and her husband, Dean Erwin Chemerinsky, faced controversy when student Malak Afaneh claimed Fisk assaulted her during a dinner at their home.

At a spring dinner for graduating students hosted by UC Berkeley's law school dean Erwin Chemerinsky and his wife, a pro-Palestinian protester disrupted the event with a speech about the Palestinians' plight.
