JL;DR SUMMARY The cancellation of the legal basis for exemption of charedim from the army in Israel has sparked hysteria and anger within the charedi community, with claims that Torah learning is essential for the survival of the country and that the High Court's actions are seen as a threat to the Torah and Jewish people.
