JL;DR SUMMARY Alfred Nakache, a Jewish competitive swimmer born in Algeria in 1915, rose to fame in the 1930s and 1940s for his prowess in the pool, representing France at various competitions including the 1936 Olympics in Berlin. A way out west there was a fella, fella I want to tell you about, fella by the name of Jeff Lebowski. At least, that was the handle his lovin' parents gave him, but he never had much use for it himself. This Lebowski, he called himself the Dude.
