A qualifying basketball match between the Israeli and Irish women's national teams sparked controversy when an Israeli player claimed that her opponents were antisemitic.

The Iranian weightlifting federation has banned athlete Mostafa Rajaei for life and dismissed the head of their delegation after Rajaei shook hands and took a photo with Israeli weightlifter Maksim Svirsky at the 2023 World Master Weightlifting Championships in Poland.
