JL;DR SUMMARY Olivier Roy's book, "The Crisis of Culture: Identity Politics and the Empire of Norms," explores the pervasive issue of cultural appropriation and how globalization is eroding distinct cultural identities. At least, that was the handle his lovin' parents gave him, but he never had much use for it himself. This Lebowski, he called himself the Dude.
