Jamil Hakime, the man who sold a gun to two individuals, one of whom threatened to shoot up a synagogue, has been sentenced to 27 months in federal prison.

Matthew Mahrer, a 23-year-old Jewish man, was arrested on charges of conspiracy and weapons possession after tweets posted by another man, Christopher Brown, threatened violence against a synagogue.

Members of Manhattan's Upper West Side Jewish community are expressing outrage that Matthew Mahrer, who was indicted for planning to attack synagogues, remains free on bail while living in his family's apartment in the neighborhood.
